The Band

Gordon Robertson, born March 22 1957: Gordy started singing in school chior in the first grade and found he had a God given talent for it and has excelled at it ever since. With a three octave voice range he can cover just about any other singer that rock and roll can come up with, but enough about his golden vocal chords. At age thirteen Gordy bought his first set of drums. He set them up in his room and discovered that he didn't know how to play them so he took lessons from such greats as Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, CCR, Aerosmith and the list goes on. Gordy has only been in three bands, Prophecy, ZOO CITY, Beef Trout and back to ZOO CITY, ok three and one half. And all of them have been great cover and original bands. Michael Johns - Bass & Vocals

Michael’s musical endeavors began at home singing and playing music with his grandmother, who was a professional musician. By age ten he was playing trumpet with the grade school band. Later, he switched to electric bass and began to teach himself to play. Michael moved to Spokane Washington and enjoyed some success playing bass in several original projects but found himself longing to learn more about music and become a more complete musician. He moved back to Missoula and began to study music at the U of M. Michael enrolled as a music education major studying the string bass. At the U of M. he performed with many ensembles encompassing a wide range of musical styles from classical music to Latin jazz and big band swing. It was at the U of M Michael recorded a CD with the Islanders Steel drum band. To help pay for college Michael formed several bands to perform in local clubs. The most notable and long lived group was Beef Trout playing covers and originals from "Whitefish to Sun Valley". Beef Trout endured for 15 years and performed with several national acts. In addition to ZOO CITY Michael performs with 4 Montana symphony orchestras including Missoula Symphony.

Dekan Gitarrenmaschine - Guitar & Vocals

Began his fascination with guitars at the age of 7 and at the age of 15 pursued performing. By the age of 17 he was performing in the San Francisco Bay Area at The Stone, The Mabuhay Gardens, The Rose & Thistle, Lucky Lion, Weeks Park. Dean has jammed with Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Tom Sprayberry, drummer Troy Luccketta (Tesla) and played venues such as the Oakland Auditorium, Cal Berkley, The Stone. Hes played in bands such as Minutes, The Alameda All Stars, Premier, and Moby Dick. Locally, he has played with Armed and Ready, All New Creation, Hell Wrecker and The Coalition to name a few. Currently united with the inimitable talents of Gordy and Mike in the band Zoo City, the musical possibilities appear to be unlimited!
